Meet Brian Huskey. He’s one of the owners of the Gaslight Group, along with his Jennifer.
Brian got started in the food ‘biz’ working concessions at University of Tennessee athletic games, which is where he received his bachelor of science degree. He then went on to rack up experience working for Steak and Ale, The Butcher Shop Steakhouse, Ruby Tuesday, & Stokely Hospitality Enterprises all in Tennessee.
In 2006, he had an opportunity to move to Savannah, where he & Jennifer started Gaslight Group. They purchased B. Matthew’s Bakery and slowly transformed it into the sought-after B. Matthew’s Eatery it is today. In 2008, Blowin’ Smoke Southern Cantina opened, a mash up between a Southern BBQ shack, taco truck, & a lively South-of-the-border cantina. Abe’s on Lincoln Street, the quintessential local dive bar was added in 2010 to downtown Savannah. The 5 Spot was created in 2012 as a neighborhood space, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, & a sought-after happy hour in Midtown Savannah. In 2019 Gaslight Group added a second 5 Spot location at 420 E Broughton St in the historic district of Savannah.
